For over 20 years, Michelle Chanda Singh, NBCT has championed equity, engagement, and educator well-being as a National Board Certified Teacher, professor of teacher education, international speaker, and author. As the founder of Restful Teacher®, Empty2Empowered™, and LCT-E Learning Solutions®, she has helped over 45,000 educators worldwide create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments. Growing up in Jamaica, she experienced the power of community-centered education, where family, culture, and the spirit of entrepreneurship were as vital to learning as textbooks. She saw firsthand how resourcefulness, resilience, and creativity weren’t just survival skills but pathways to opportunity and transformation—a lesson that shaped her belief that education should do more than transfer knowledge; it should inspire belonging, agency, and purpose.
Her impact extends beyond the classroom through the EQUAL Methodology™, equipping educators with evidence-based strategies and emerging technologies for inclusive, engaging learning. Michelle’s thought leadership has been featured in Edutopia, Education Week, and ASCD, and she has spoken on international stages, including TEDx, ISTE, NCTE, NAGC, and Learning Forward, championing AI, inclusivity, and teacher well-being. She has also held leadership roles with Microsoft Education, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Pi Delta Omega Chapter), and Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated (South Miami Chapter). She began her Kappa Delta Pi member journey at Nova Southeastern University’s Omega Theta Chapter and now serves as the Florida Network Ambassador. She believes that true leadership is rooted in service—lifting others, cultivating belonging, and creating pathways for success.
Michelle lives in Miami, Florida, with her husband, Cordy, and their daughter, Chanda, a Howard University Bison. Though she thrives in public speaking and leadership, she is an introvert who recharges through journaling, books, podcasts, and quiet moments by the beach. Her Jamaican heritage is central to her life, shaping her values of creativity, resilience, and community. Every year, she returns home to Jamaica to reset, reconnect, and embrace family traditions, including sharing favorite dishes like curry goat, jerk chicken, and oxtail with loved ones. She believes that our identities, cultures, and stories should not just be remembered, but honored, shared, and celebrated—because when education reflects who we are, it empowers us all to thrive.
